Try your luck downtown on Second Street near Seldon or Seven Mile near Dequindre.

Ferndale is a nice town but it’s known as the gay mecca of metro Detroit. I don’t think it’s a brilliant idea to head there to meet straight members of the opposite sex.

Royal Oak tends toward filling up with hipster trash. If you’re into snotty white girls who go out just to take pictures of themselves to load into Facebook the next day and look like spokes models for MAC makeup then just head to the Magic Stick in Detroit. At least the beer is cheaper there.

To be honest, it all depends on what type of girl you’re into. Scenesters/hipsters are in Royal Oak and The Magic Stick. There’s a head shop in Birmingham called The Jungle Room where you could meet stoner girls. All you’d need is weed. College girls and sorostitutes are at Wild Woody’s or The Post Bar. There are club skanks all over Clutch Cargo’s.

If you’re just into normal women then I might suggest bars like The Mill in Rochester or Field of Dreams (a sports bar) in Troy or, honestly, a large bookstore in any busy town like the Barnes and Noble in Royal Oak or Borders in Birmingham. Lots of nice, easy to talk to women are there all the time.
